The Purposeful Pursuit of MOMMYVILLE
Welcome to Mommyville, a world I fell in love with the very moment our sweet Greyson peeked through those poofy, traumatized newborn eyes and looked straight into mine. It was then that my definition of love and ability to love grew.
Stepping into Mommyville is learning love in a new way, feeling selfishness ooze right out of you and land on to this little life before you. It is a mixture of joy and intimidation. It’s experiencing a miracle firsthand (insert sweet ahhs); it’s having a whole entire life in your literal and figurative hands (breathe in deeply - you’ll need this technique as they grow).
Mommyville. A place I love to be. A place you never have to leave. Where so many joys are birthed. Where you lovingly become Mommy . . . Just slightly before becoming: Milk Machine, Diaper Pro, Spit Up Tolerator, Potty Patroller, Lullaby-er, Discipliner, Explainer of the "Why?", Car Seat Adjuster, Professional Puke Wiper, Guider, Hand Holder, That Mom, and once a few more come along . . . Juggler of Everything, and the ever-loved Referee . . . (Yes, this list is no where close to sufficient.) And with all that, still a place I LOVE to be.
So, here are my little pursuits. I find their crazy personalities and every little feature and detail addictive and evidence of a Creator so beyond my very understanding. Having these little lives to love and raise still leaves me speechless (in the good way, well . . . mostly).
